About Me

I’m Jessica, but you can call me Jess. I’ve been taking photographs for 12 years and I couldn’t imagine my life without a camera in my hand. I was hooked from the moment I learnt the darkroom process and how to develop film. Photography just makes sense to me. When I began to travel the world, I gained an appreciation for documentary photography which lead me to weddings. I enjoy photographing people and capturing candid moments at weddings as they unfold, along with all the little details that you’ve spent months planning and daydreaming about.

Alongside wedding photography, I also work as a secondary school teacher where I teach photography and visual communication design. I really do have the best of both worlds! I’ve found I can bring a certain inner teacher confidence to weddings which really helps couples feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera.

But what am I doing when I’m not busy with photographing, teaching and editing? I practice yoga, collect plants like it’s going out of fashion, I travel (Seventeen countries and counting!), explore beaches along the Mornington Peninsula with my lovely boy, cuddle my cat and attempt to be a responsible adult and water the backyard! But that’s enough about me!
